07-Dec: Coming together in Cayman - one week to go Dan Kneipp reports Only one week to go until the Cayman World Open presented by BDO starts! The excitement is building and we're looking forward to hosting the best players in the world. Watch the court go up - timelapse video	Backwall seating is finished on the east end of the site. The north (right wall) and west (front wall) areas will be VIP cocktail table areas, and the south (left wall) will be general admission cocktail/bar area. The court and site always look more dramatic once the seating has been finalised. The green areas are the VIP boxes with the back areas the general bench seating. This is the view from the stadium seating. Once the sun goes down and the lights on the dock, island and crescent can be viewed across the water it is spectacular. Site Build Update The glass court is nearly finished, and the stadium seating is 90% complete. Looking across Camana Bay from the new site The next stage is working with Massive to transform the site. A big benefit to the new court location is there is more space and fewer obstacles that we need to build around. Once Massive has finished with the site it will be one of the most beautiful and dramatic sporting venues (but I am biased!) So what happens if it rains? The same thing that happens at the US Open tennis - everyone gets wet! It is an outdoor venue with covering for the glass court only. This is the same setup that we've had for the 2010 and 2011 Cayman Opens. In 2010 we had rain for the quarter finals. We still had a full crowd (with everyone wearing rain ponchos) and the court stayed dry under the tent. It will be the same for the 2012 World Open Presented by BDO. If it rains the show must go on and the squash will continue! The VIP bar will be literally on top of the helipad, with the dining tables circled around it. The squash will still be viewable through the front wall, making a great social area for the VIP viewing.
